  • Lincolnshire Park

This wonderful park in North Tazewell has swimming, tennis, picnicking and fishing facilities. The Kidzown playground was built almost entirely by community volunteers and is a great example of neighbors helping neighbors in Tazewell County.

  • Pocahontas Exhibition Mine and Museum

    Exhibition Mine and MuseumThe Pocahontas Exhibition Mine and Museum site is that of the Original Pocahontas Mine, which was the first mine opened in the Pocahontas Coal Field. The original mine was opened in 1883 and was worked out in October 1955. The Exhibition Mine was first opened to the public in 1938. It is the only Exhibition Coal Mine in the world in which visitors may view the famed Pocahontas #3 Coal Seam, which is more than ten feet in height, seen in its original state.

  • Sanders HouseCavitt' Creek

The Sanders House is a historical treasure, preserving aspects of past and contemporary grace. Tours of the Sanders House are available April 15th through October 15th. A nominal fee is charged. Groups of ten will be discounted. House and grounds are available for meetings, weddings, and all other celebratory occasions.

  • Appalachian Arts Center The Appalachian Arts Center is a showplace and retail space that celebrates the culture and heritage of the region through the exhibition of locally made craft, fine art, literature and music. The Center is located in Tazewell County, Virginia, 2.5 miles north of the main campus of Southwest Virginia Community College in what is known locally as the Old Archie Helton Store.

  • Clinch River is the crown of the mountain empire flowing southwestward from its origin near the town of Tazewell, the Clinch travels some 135 miles, reaching portions of Tazewell, Russell, Wise, and Scott counties on its way to the Tennessee state line. In a cast of Virginia rivers that portray history and natural wealth, the Clinch has a story and a character all its own.
